Hi just wondering if anyone has had a ne melanoma appear after getting all clear? If yes was it close to the original one?
This hasn't happened to me and I was wondering if this has happened to you and that's why you're asking?
If melanoma comes back in the same area it's called recurrent melanoma and clicking on the link I've created will give you more information about how it's diagnosed and treated.
I'm hoping that you're just curious and that you're not in that position

Hi Latchbrook, just enquiring how common recurrence is and whether it is always close to the initial site?
That's a relief Sonny09, I was worried that you'd got a recurrence.
I am just monitoring a couple of moles and no doubt my mind is running away with me.
my first mole was observed, biopsied and excised. end of story. then on follow up screening a mole was found CENTIMETERS away, biopsied , found too large or dope for excision alone and was SLNB'ed resulting in discovering melanoma in lympth nodes.
in other words 2nd mole popped up and went nuclear in about 3 months or was not discovered at time of 1st mole.
for clarification the 1st mole was melanomic but shallow enough to be treated by excision alon.
