As some of you may be aware my melanoma was an amelanotic one, meaning that it wasn't your classic mole gone rogue but a red lesion that appeared on my arm nearly 3 years ago. Unfortunately another red lesion appeared on my arm 10 days ago about 8" away from the original one. I kept an eye on it but, as it wasn't showing any signs of going, I phoned my SCNS on Tuesday and saw my consultant this morning.
She doesn't know what it is so I'm having it removed in 12 days time. I could have opted for a biopsy of a small part of it but decided that it might as well all go as, if it does turn out to be a melanoma, I'd have to go back to have the whole thing removed at a later date anyway.
I now have to take my own advice and just concentrate on the next step without worrying what may or may not happen. Anyway, I'm off on holiday for a week from tomorrow so that will take my mind off things!
I hope everyone else is doing okay.

I'm sorry to hear you have another lesion.
Sending you positive thoughts and a virtual hug.

Thanks for the virtual hug and positive thoughts Teetee, they were much appreciated.

Keep is updated and try and enjoy you holiday
Thanks very much for your support Mandy.
Oh Anne I'm so sorry to hear your news and just before your holiday. I know how you feel as something was found on my last womb cancer scan and I'm to have a petscan to determine if it's a recurrence, I'm not having it done until end of May because I'm also going on holiday and don't want it to spoil it. Hope you can enjoy yourself and at least take your mind of things. Lots of love Kate.
Ooh the 8th of May for your biopsy latchbrook, that’s the same day as my scan results. I know you might not read this until your back from your cruise, but just in case You do I hope you have a fantastic holiday and hope it keep your mind off everything Melanoma related.
I'm sorry to know that you have this "red lesion". Its a drag when things like this pop up...
I am very impressed by your strong attitude to it though - you go get 'em girl! I remember when having a couple of "suspect moles" removed, and I pointed out to my surgeon that a couple of others had recently appeared. My surgeon asked what were my thoughts as I laid there on the chopping block. "Better out than in & soonest gone, soonest mended" I replied.. A quick couple of flicks from the scalpel and they were taken care of. Mine turned out to be nothing - as I hope yours is too.
Enjoy your holiday!
Don't wait for your ship to come in, swim out and find it!
Sorry to hear your news Latchbrook!
I hope you find plenty of things to keep you occupied on your holiday whilst you're away and that you get the all clear when back.
All the best J x
Huge hugs . You’re only human and it’s okay to be feeling worried. You’re such a strong person and very inspiring for everyone on here but take time to take it all in and remember that we are all here too
Thanks everyone for your well wishes and support! I'm just catching up with the posts on here after my weeks holiday.
Only a couple of days to go now and then whatever it is on my arm will be gone.
I'll keep you updated
Thinking of you latchbrook. In case youre wondering who i am used to be katsil!
Ah, that's who you are! I was wondering who this papermoon person was, lol. How come you've changed your name?
Thanks for your well wishes
Hi latchbrook Its been nearly 4 years since mm and 3 endometrial cancer and thought perhaps i should leave and move on. Then last pelvic mri found slightly enlarged lymph node and im having a petscan when i get back from holiday. I panicked tried to rejoin the forums but had trouble with old profile. It almost felt leaving was tempting fate. Anyway off to scotland for a family holiday for 10 days. Consultant said it was ok to wait and just didnt want anything to cloud it. My son only comes over from kenya a couple of times a year.
Have a great holiday Kate and enjoy your son being around.
