I was just wondering has anyone on here beeen diagnosed with stage with stage 4 mantle cell lymphoma with a TP53 mutation, how has your journey been?

  • If I may ask: how were the results of your scan, Liz?

    Kind Regards, Han

  • Hi Han, I’m pleased to tell you that all signs of MCL are not showing on my PET scan or in my bone marrow biopsy. I will start my Retuximab maintenance on Tuesday.

    How are you doing?

    Thanks

    Liz

  • That's super, Liz! Congrats!

Zanubrutinib: no side effects so far :-). Consult in 3 weeks time to see how the blood count is.

  • Hi I was diagnosed with stage 3 MCL last September.  Hard journey so far..Two admissions over 17 days due to infections during 6 months of chemo which initially cleared most of MCL followed by one dose of rituximab. Unfortunately the next PET scan showed MCL had spread rapidly. So rituximab didn't work for me.  I was quickly put on Ibrutinib in May this year.  Four months on and quite honestly feel great, ran 5k North Great Run recently.  Not bad for a 76 year old. Run 5k four times a week, Feel strong, lots of energy never felt better.  No symptoms at all.  Consultant is more than happy with my progress and will look to extending my clinic appointments to every three months. I am a great believer in positive mental attitude and have never let it depress me.  I have been determined from day one to defeat this.

  • Just to add I have TP53 mutation

  • Hi Jojohm

It’s great news that you are feeling so well. I also think the power of fresh air and exercise helps so much. Not only with our physical well being but our mental health. It’s so easy to go down a rabbit hole of what ifs!!!

  • Blood count: anemia is almost gone. Due to Zanubrutinib, the white blood cell count is a little bit lower.

  • That’s great, how are you feelin?

  • Good! So happy that there are no side effects yet! :-).

    And how are you, Liz?
