Hi I'm 47 years old and in Novemer 2017 I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. At the time I had a small lung nodule which was very small and thought to be benign
In December 2017 I had an open lower anterior reaction, ileostony, followed by 3 months adjuvent chemotherapy.
In April of this year I had a stoma reversal, and then in July I was sent for a PET scan as the lung nodule had grown.
On 14th October I had a lung resection to remove the nodule which has been confirmed as a secondary cancer. I am recovering well but still very sore and tired.
The thoracic surgeon has now sent the histology to my oncologist to follow up. He is however on annual leave for 3 weeks. I have no idea if I will now need further chemotherapy. Has anyone else had a similar experience and able to tell me if they needed any further chemotherapy? Or will the surgery be sufficient?
Thank you.
Hi PippyJayne,
I wonder (given your oncologist is away for so long) if you have a cancer nurse specialist you can contact with your questions.
Or do u trust the registrar enough to talk to them?
Sorry I can't be of more help.
Thank you buttercup01
That's an idea. I think I may do that or contact one of the colorectal team.
