Hi everyone I had ct scan 10 days ago saw the specialist last fri they did a biopsopy with needle into my lung but have not yet given me the result but have booked a biopsy with the camera down the throat next fri, she says it’s lung cancer but waiting on the type so can then tell me more, I feel fine apart from this rasping cough can anyone please advise what I can do to ease it she said things like paracetamol, thanks fore any help I am a 76 year old male.
Hi Vincent and welcome (sort of)
Without knowing what is causing the cough it's difficult to suggest anything so would suggest following oncologists advice to take paracetamol.
Re first biopsy, I'm guessing they were unable to source any/sufficient material to do a biopsy, hence the second attempt was scheduled.
One thing I would (in fact always do) suggest is you don't google the problem. The information generally available on the web is at least 2 years out of date.
You will find lots of helpful people on this site (as opposed to me) and once you have a diagnosis the suggestions will come thick and fast.
Regards Phil
Thanks Phill for your kind words , so I will try paracetamol and see how it goes. I will be glad when the biopsy is done then we will know more
Thanks
It's always a long wait but there are so many brilliant drugs about that whatever the diagnosis there will be something.
Keep posting Vincent.
Thanks Phill you give me hope & Thanks Judy I will give them a try
Phil I vape do you think this is making my cough worse
thanks
Hi
Vaping? Yes it will be making you cough worse. Please stop inhaling any substance into your lungs that isn't prescribed by your consultant.
