Hi there
I am just starting this journey. I have just recieved initial diagnosis of primary liver cancer. I am just about coming up to the surface to breathe after the initial shock. How long generally should I have to wait to see see a specialist and be told what treatments and options are available? My GP has said she has 'red flagged ' my referrals.
I am in Northern Ireland.
Hi Michelle
I am sorry to here about your father. I am considering myself very luck. 12 weeks after my cancer was discovered (by lucky mistake) I underwent surgery where surgeon removed 65% of my liver.
The surgeon is confident that all the cancer has been removed and am awaiting the results of tests to confirm this. I have an appointment with surgeon at end of the month so as you can imagine all fingers are crossed.
I hope your father is as lucky as I have been . Drop a line and let me know how things are
