We understand that people with cancer are worried about coronavirus.
Here is the
We will update it regularly.
I went to the doctors about 12 weeks ago with a pain in my chest, thought it was severe trapped wind as you do I was made an appointment for a ultra sound scan, wherthey found what they described as a small cyst, and referred to a urologist, where I had 2 ct scans with dye, it turns out to be a complex cyst Bosniac 3 about 7 cms on the outside of my kidney, it looked more like a brain to me , it was decided that a radical nephrectomy was the only option, which I took all in my stride, until now 3 weeks after the surgery, I am dealing with the pain, but what concerns me is a deep ridge under my skin where they took the kidney out is very hard and quite large, it is affecting me walking as it feels like a muscle tear on my hip, does this get better and go down in size, not that I should worry about that considering what I may have had, haven’t been told wether it’s benign or not that’s the news I will get on the 2nd of January ,
Welcome to the group. There are a few members who've had Bosniak cysts -incl the husband of sueCC
I hope by answering this n bumping it up, one of those will see it n reply.
congratulations on dealing with the operation. If you are concerned about anything post operation it is a good idea to seek medical advice either from your GP or your medical team.
It is possible that it could be healing scar tissue but could be any number of other things.
Take care and I hope you have a good Christmas.
Love and hugs.
Thanks buttercup, I don’t think I’ll be much help to you Deb as my husband didn’t seem to have what you’re experiencing, could it be scar tissue or something like that, my husband had internal stitches, all he felt was a numb feeling where the muscles was cut. Could it possibly be a hernia? I think I’d do as Gragon says and ask the medical people just to be on the safe side.
let us know how you get on on the 2nd Jan and fingers crossed it’s good news x
I had surgery for bowel cancer two years ago and was lesft with some very strange lumps and bumps!
It would be best to get it checked though at the earliest opportunity, quick trip to a & e may be?
Thank you sue cc, my surgeon said after the operation he didn’t cut my muscles, definitely not numb, could be possibly just down to not settling down yet but I will be asking them next week. When I went to the gp the nurse to have the staples out she took out the small
Incision staples it easily but the actual big cut she could only
get 3 out I had to be referred back to a&e by my doctor with a letter as the pain was horrendous after morphine codine and liquid paracetamol they managed to get them out after a three hours, that pain was worse than than anything I have experienced
Thank you buttercup for your reply and bumping up my thread x
Thanks you Dom for your reply been to a&e as my doctors surgery couldn’t get my staples out, that In it’s self was horrendous, but I will be asking the consultants quite a few questions on the 2 nd I hope all
is ok is well with you now
Yes all good on the bowel cancer front thanks, just waiting on a CT to double check a kidney cyst from last year, have a look at this https://pubs.rsna.org/doi/full/10.1148/radiol.2019182646 will hopefully reassure you about your biopsy results
Hi Dom, thank you for the link I am a bit in the dark with all the garb, I am black and white, hopefully all with be explained in layman’s terms on the 2nd, and what happens after that, then I can work forward as I am in no mans land, glad to hear all is good on the bowel cancer front
how weird , I was taken to hospital last week because of chest pain.after a Ct scan I have been told I have a 10cm tumour on my kidney and a mass 16cm in my pelvis which they think is a fibroid.
I am due to have my kidney out and a hysterectomy on jan 13th .
its all been such a shock
Good luck Jackid for Jan 13. I've had a kidney out n a hysterectomy, but several years apart- not on the same day!
.Make sure you take it easy once u get home, but also walk around every so often x
I can imagine how much of a shock it’s been and probably still is, I wish you luck and love on the 13 th and you have a speedy recovery
Good luck Jackid, hopefully everything will go smoothly for you and you’ll be on the mend very soon. X
