Hi
im 9 weeks post radiotherapy to palate and neck. Had neck dissection December.
is it usual to be so stiff!! My neck hurts pretty much all the time on any movement and i can feel it crunching when i move my neck and head. My head feels full like a pressure cooker !! Im deaf with terribly loud tinnitus in one ear. Its so debilitating. My head feel likes like it’s throbbing and doesn’t help because i can hear my heart bear in my ear. Is this usual and will it get better? So tired still and feel weak and wobbly. I feel like im getting worse not better. Anyone else experience this?
thanks x
This one is simple. But do run it past your team

I have a stiff neck and do yoga every day. This may help.
So given my symptoms as above i contacted GP who said likely radiation sickness (9 weeks since it stopped). I contacted Macmillan who said unlikely to be radiation effects? I feel like im slowly dying. I have a review with the surgeon next Tuesday but dint hold much hope out of getting an improvement if its not likely die to radiotherapy?? I’ve literally laid in bed half the day and sat on sofa , unable to do anything due to symptoms:(
Xx
Elaine it could be radiation fatigue it’s debilitating and comes in waves all you can do for now is listen to your body. Took me 3 years to stop my 20 min power naps. I was fine in between it us early days although you might not think it. But write everything down and don’t leave consultant until you’re happy with answers.

Elaine did you have and chemotherapy?
I agree with Hazel re fatigue. Macmillan are wrong. You do get a hit to your brain and it takes time to adapt.
