hi all x

i'm new to this site and just wondered if some people could give me any ideas on how effective stents are as a treatment for this kind of cancer. Are they just a way of giving precious extra time or could they do more?

Thank you

'Bad Year' is now a 'Good Year'

Hi Lisa

Welcome to the forum, but am sorry you find yourself here, as you may already know eating and drinking can be a real issue, therefore stents are a tried and tested way to keep the food pipe open so your dad can get nourishments, they do sometimes have complications but are a good line of action to take, unfortunately they will not halt the progression to the disease but can offer a better quality of life for your dad; things may get tough for you and your dad as time goes on but we are here to help support you in your journey along with everyone else involved with your dads treatment.

Take care,
