My parent is stage 4 and is not a candidate for an operation or chemotherapy. They can't even keep shakes or water down now, they have a drip and few vitamins IV but that's it. The tumour is very large and causing blockage and regurgitation. Their oncologist has recommended a stent followed by radiotherapy if he chooses, to help improve eating and quality of life. We don't know how long they have. I'm worried about the lack of nutrition he has had in the hospital and they don't seem to care, and just seem to accept there's a blockage. I'm also worried about the stent and it causing more issues. I just feel like we don't have any options, would a feeding tube be better then a stent. The idea is to get them strong, so they can have radiotherapy but then they said the radiotherapy is optional. At the moment they aren't in pain but obviously not keeping anything down is causing emotional and physical distress. It's heart-breaking. Please can someone give me advice, everything is happening so fast.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your parent's diagnosis and proposed treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'.
