  • Hello Angie. It sounds like yours is a bumpy ride. Did the tumour grow back after the 1st line?

I'm very happy to say that Rod's CT scan after 4 cycles showed a 50% reduction in all tumours and yesterday he eas told that the next scan showed further reductions. He's had 7 cycles now, had a week's break between 4 &5 because of a very sore mouth, and is having another week's break before cycle 8 on 8th. His mouth hadn't healed sufficiently in time for the scheduled cycle tomorrow/Thursday. On top of this he has a cold and pulled his back last week lifting a heavy box. He has been feeling very sorry gor himself but has perked up since yesterday. Rod reckons he can feel his immune system kicking back in. Not being able to ho gor a walk because of his back hasn't helped.

We are going away on 18th January for a week. That should boost us all. The girls are coming with us and the boyfriend. We booked it back in May, way before we had any idea what was to come.

Wishing you a better year for 2025, Angie. We just have to put our faith in the medical team and hope that the advances in treatment are in time to help our husbands.

  • Hi Lorraine,

Yes, the tumour in the oesophagus mildly progressed after the 1st line, the spot in the liver had the most progress from chemo, things are stable at the moment but without more chemo they will grow again. We just have to hope 2nd line chemo works and keeps this beast under control Pray

Rod sounds like he is doing well and I am pleased he has had a reduction in his tumours. It's always nice to get good news.

Yes, let's hope 2025 brings better treatment for this horrendous disease.

Happy New Year to you all.

    Angie xxx
