A place for people affected by brain tumours or brain cancer to support one another...
My sister has had 1 round of chemo, she was due to start her second round today but can't due to low white cells and platelets. Has anyone else been in this position? What can we do to help boost them?
Thanks in advance,
So sorry about your sister. I had the same problem and was told if its bad enough I could be given a blood transfusion. As it happens I didn't have the next chemo but waited a week and my bloods improved by themselves. So in my experience there is nothing you can do yourself - its either a blood transfusion or wait and not have chemo until the blood improves on its own.
Thank you Svety, hopefully it improves on its own then, fingers crossed!
