CML survivor

I've only just joined this site due to being recently diagnosed with breast cancer.

However in 1989 at the age of 31 I was diagnosed with CML. I was very lucky and they managed to find me a bone marrow donor and in 1990 I had a transplant. I was treated at Leicester Royal infirmary and they looked after me very well.

I am posting this because I am now  60 and I wanted to reassure everyone that people can survive  CML..

I am more than happy to help and support others if needed

Hi and welcome to the Online Community but sorry to hear about your ongoing issues with cancer.

This will indeed be a great encouragement for those on the CML journey. I had NHL and two Stem Cell Transplant so do understand the journey you were on...... now Breast Cancer - as my oldest granddaughter (7) would say “that is pants granddad”

I see that you have found the best supportive Breast cancer Forum - you will get some great support from them.

It would be good - when you feel up to it try putting some information in your profile. This really helps others when answering. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. Just click on YOUR username, select 'Edit Profile'. Put as much or as little in your profile and you can amend it at any time - you can see members profiles by hitting our forum names.

All the very best ((hugs))
