I have GCIN and CIN 3 going to an MDT meeting the doctors has not signed of my results or spoke to me, I called and the nurse said I can only tell you GCIN and CIN 3 because the dr hasn’t signed them off. I then get booked for Lletz under general for large area of cells but along with that a Hystroscopy ( no one mentioned this to me) I don’t know why I need this as well or what they are checking it’s driving me insane no answers just questions.
did they find something in the cervix and now want to check womb?
mid anyone can help would be much appreciated xx
Hi Loulou94
Make sure you keep an eye on what’s going on-have you got a thermometer at home to check your temperature? It’s normal to feel a bit yucky after what you’ve had done, but you need to watch for any infection, and contact your gp if you think that’s happening-high temp, lots of blood or smelly discharge for example. Infections can be common after this, so it’s important to get antibiotics quickly if you need them. I hope you’ll pick up in a day or so though.
I’m not sure what will happen at your MDT meeting today. A number of patients are discussed at mdt meetings by the team, but usually this is after all the results from tests and biopsies are available and yours were only done yesterday. It usually takes a week or two for biopsy results to come back, so don’t be alarmed if your case is not discussed today. They need all of the results to determine what plan is needed going forward.
Try to relax for now and I hope you’re able to enjoy this nice weather forecast for the weekend! Take care, and thank you for your kind words.

Hi Sarah,
I hope you have been well,
thought I should update my situation and results for anyone that reads our conversation.
I had the Lletz done, felt very unwell and had an infection with some medication this cleared up. My results confirms CIN 2, CIN 3 and high grade CGIN with no malignancy found in removed tissue is the exact wording on my letter.
I didn’t know I could get CIN 2 and 3 but as that is on the outside but the CGIN in know is the gland inside part, but anyway it carry’s on to say it will be discussed at the next MDT meeting and the outcome and management plan will be sent to me.
I am happy to see no malignancy but going to prey they managed to remove it all at my next smear if that is the plan after the MDT.
thank you Sarah for chilling me out and to be honest just got on with life now xxx
Hi Loulou94
Thanks so much for coming back with an update-it’s good to hear outcomes like this. It’s possible to have different levels of CIN at the same time, along with CGIN, which as you say is inside the cervix. The fact that there is no malignancy in what was removed is really good news, so you can relax now! You’ll get another check up probably in 6 months to make sure everything is fine.
I’m so pleased you’ve had such great results-have a lovely weekend. ️
