Hi I'm  new to this group, not sure what to say really. I have recently been diagnosed with secondary breast cancer in my bones  and so far have had various scans ct mri and ultra sound and am now waiting for another mri to have a better look of my spine so I haven't started any treatment yet apart from various pain relief, at the moment I'm taking liquid morphine  but still in a lot of pain. I suppose I'm just looking for someone to tell me that at some point when treatment starts I will be in less pain

  • Hi,  Do you have a date for starting your chemo yet?   I don't understand why some people with secondary breast cancer have chemo and some don't.  I am just on targeted therapy which has similar side effects to chemo.  It is strange that we are all on different treatment plans.  Anyway big hugs.

  • Hi I've not had a date yet, yes it's strange how we are all different  with our treatment  i  can't wait to get  going but also feel kind of scared x

  • Hi again have just read your profile  and I feel for you,  we have to stay positive  xx

  • Hi yes we have to stay positive but in the beginning found this very hard.  It is getting easier as time goes on.  This time last year when I just found out I didn't know if I would see Christmas.  Fast forward to this year , we have just had a week in Portugal and I know I will see many more Christmases.  I am living with cancer not dying with it.  I am trying to make the best of every day.  Please let me know when you start your chemo and how you get on.

  • Hi sure i let you know  when  i get started x my name is jenny

  • Hi, I was diagnosed with metasticised (stage4)breast cancer in the bones in April of this year. I'm 65 and have had breast cancer 3times prior to this recent diagnosis. I previously had lymoh nodes removed on the right, and right side mastectomy. We've been try to find a chemo that works without knocking out my white cells and haemaglobin. Hopefully this course may be working, and am awaiting scan to see if any progress of treatment, tho they think I havn't been on treatment consistently enough to see any changes yet. I've also been on hormone therapy, and as a result will be needing bone strengthening injections. I have been following Dr William Li (cancer research Dr, and Chris Warke, (Chris Beat Cancer) for dietry changes. I just started a fb page where I share tips. So am hoping to see changes in disease regardless of efficacy of treatment. I hope you get your pain under control too, once I started treatments the pain receeded. I was on Palboclib 3 different strengths, and now on Abemaciclib plus hormone treatment Anastrazole. Let me know how you get on when you start a treatment.

  • It was good reading that you seem to be doing ok as ive been diagnosed with breast and lymph node cancer and they have found a hot spot in my spine. Im so scared but sounds like treatment is working for you xx

  • Hi Lee so I have started my treatment had first chemo last Friday and first radiotherapy session on Monday I think radiotherapy has knocked me about a bit which i was told that it would

Not looking forward to my next  radiotherapy which is this Monday coming  but things will get better after a week or 2.  Also  had bone injections with chemotherapy

Hope you are doing well xx

  • Hi Jenny, sorry to hear that the radiotherapy is knocking you about.  I never found this at all, it was the chemo for me.  I did have a single dose of radiotherapy to my spine a few months ago and this was so painful afterwards.  Now the pain has gone back to being okay.  How many chemos and radios are you having?  Big hugs.
