Hello fellow travellers

im new to the forum after being diagnosed with mets breast cancer to bones in February 2023. Shell shocked as thought in December 22 I only had two small lesions in both boobs and was due for surgery, had similar treatment in 2017.. obviously feeling devastated and in shock and just wanted to say hi to all of you.

I’m taking letrozole and ribociclib but have to get dental treatment before I get bone strengtheners as I also have rheumatoid arthritis and my gums are a bit weedy.

Hope to see how others are faring, thank you

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I can see that you've joined in with some threads in this group and I'm sure you'll find the other members of the group willing to answer any questions you might have, if they can, and also share their experiences with you.

It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Hi everyone - my name is Shirley and I’ve just been joined by my daughter Jo. I’ve had breast cancer twice once at aged 69 and then at 76. The second was over 17 years ago and at aged 94 I have just been diagnosed with Secondary Metastaic breast cancer. I’m 94 years young and thought it was originally diagnosed as shingles - however, I’ve since had a pleurodesis procedure which seems to have been effective and wondered whats next for me. Nice to have somewhere to look to for support form others as there maybe someon who has had the same experience

  • Hi  and welcome to the online community

I'm sorry to read that you've recently been diagnosed with secondary breast cancer having been cancer free for 17 years.

It would be great if you joined this group and started a new post introducing yourself. If you're not sure how to do this, just reply to me and I'll talk you through it.
