Hello

I'm due to start docetaxel, carboplatin and trastuzumab soon.

Good news is they've removed 2 cancers from right breast - still healing but much better and back at work.

I'm really worried about how the treatment will affect me.

Any advice please? Xx

  • So you will be a week behind me. Keep us updated on how you get on. Everyone told me to keep doing what you normally do and you should be ok so that’s what I intend on doing for as long as i can.

Wishing you well and please try not to worry xx

  • Jam first of course although my husband disagrees.

I'd got past the worst of the menopause brain but yes it is very similar plus the hot flushes are back, may be I'm getting younger Laughing

  • Hi, I had this chemo and was able to manage the side effects pretty well. I did work, but flexibly and I was lucky that I could adjust my hours as I needed. Don't forget that cancer is covered by the equality act in the UK so your employer cannot treat you differently due to anything related to your cancer, and if you need any advice about this, give the Macmillan support line a call on 0800 808 0000.

I blogged throughout treatment and you might find this one useful - the things I wish I'd known! Chemo blog link
