Is this breast pain normal?

hi all, I‘m entering my fourth week post op from a partial mastectomy and breast reconstruction. I still get a lot of pain in both breasts and at first I thought it was the compression bra but its not.

The pain is like a burning sensation and at other times a throbbing type. But it’s always there and i can’t catch a break. I’m always pulling my bra away from my body as if it’s causing skin sensitivity (its not).

I have a lot of fat necrosis that’s hardened so I don’t know if this is causing the problem.

The dr said everything looks great and the healing is amazing. Scars are fading or very thin.

the burning seems to be the worst. It’s all the freaking time. I‘m worried because I‘m scared of starting radiotherapy with this sensation.

anyone go through this and how long did it last?

  • Hi it could be nerves healing . Sometimes they cut through nerves and they fire up again to heal. I had some severe nerve pain but it did ease and mend .xx

How long did you have pain for, I had a lumpectomy, radiotherapy and am now taking letrozole. My surgery was last July, I also had some lymph nodes removed, I can't wear ordinary bras and am wearing my post operative ones. Some of the pain is in my armpit, some round my nipple and also in the whole of my breast, it also itches xx
