Hi all, I am new to this forum. I had mediastinal non hodgkins lymphoma nearly 10 years ago with chemo and radiotherapy. I was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 months ago and the plan was to remove it and then radiotherapy. I have had my operation and it’s all removed with clear margins. They also removed a node which was also clear. I had my oncology appointment yesterday and was told that this cancer may have been due to the previous radiotherapy so having more radiation is probably not advisable.
I’ve been told that hormone treatment as it’s oestrogen positive and yearly mammograms for another 10 years may be my best choice. Has anyone had recurrence without radiotherapy. I feel like I’m screwed either way. I’m only 50 and don’t want to live worrying if something is growing again, I need advice please?
Hi Nicci2
Welcome to the forum and I am sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer. While I don't have any advice for you I thought I'd reply anyway to welcome you to the community. Hopefully someone will be along shortly with some advice for you.
Wishing you the best of luck with your hormone treatment.
Best wishes
