Hi all.
I was diagnosed on 19th August. Grade 1 IDC 22mm est receptive.

I stopped HRT that day and started on Letrozole a few days later. Had a mag seed placement on 29th August and will be having a lumpectomy on 24th September followed by radiotherapy.

I think I am coping mentally, it’s just so surreal and I catch myself going to worst case scenarios.

I have a holiday next week (already booked prior) so hopefully can relax a bit before the op.

  • Hi All,

Lumpectomy and sentinel lymph node biopsy done. I got back from holiday on Monday and had the op on Wednesday. All went as well as could be expected, the whole team at the hospital were lovely from start to finish. So much so that I wasn’t even nervous until I got into the theatre and they started putting all the bits on me. Then I was fast asleep.

I feel that I have been very well looked after.
Not too much pain afterwards, just a slight tugging feeling around armpit.

I have my results appt on 23rd October and a physio session on Tuesday.

Thank you to all that replied to my original post x

  • Hi

Im due the same treatment this Friday so this is reassuring Kissing heart

Hi , I’m new to this . I was Diagnosed with breast cancer on 21st of July , and it’s all been so overwhelming as I went for my routine mammogram only to be recalled . Had more mammograms , ultra scan and biopsy then a few days later the results . They don’t think it’s spread after having a CT scan and MRI , they did find a nodule on my lung but think it’s begnin . Will have a repeat ct in 3 months . It’s in my right breast and is hormone receptive so have had to stop my HRT , so emotions and head all over the place . Saw the oncologist last week , and yesterday everything was all booked in . Heart scan today , more bloods Tues , kidney scan on the 8th , oncologist again on the 11th then if all results are fine chemo starts on the 16th . So that is the plan . Then surgery and radiotherapy . So much to take in and feel very alone

  • Hi, hope your op went well. Mine is right breast too and also ER pos. I too had to stop my HRT and am already on Estrozole.
I was taking it in the morning but would get a fatigue crash at 2pm so now I take it at 8pm and use the crash as bedtime. I’ve not slept this well in years.
