I had my first infusion yesterday. I'm due to have one every 6 months for 3 years. When I got home yesterday I felt fine. Today is another matter! Every bone and muscle hurts and I have a horrendous headache. I guess they are the flu like symptoms my information sheets talked about. This morning I was sooooo cold but now I'm boiling hot. Have fallen asleep on the sofa twice! I have taken paracetamol and ibuprofen which only helped a little. Hoping things will improve in the next day or 2 and not be so bad next time or am I clutching at straws.
I had my first in December. Had it in the morning by the night time I had a temperature, vomiting & bone ache. By the next day I felt much better but the temperature (low grade) last until 48hrs. After that I was completely back to normal! My oncologist said if I have the same again on the next they will look at reducing the dose so make sure you let yours know on your next appointment as there is always something they can do. I hope you’re feeling better much now.
I tried not to stay in bed but maybe I should have. Have fallen asleep both morning and afternoon! Felt well enough to go to the village shop this morning but still slept this afternoon. Luckily I'm retired so my time is my own.
The day after my infusion I kept checking my temperature and it wasn't raised at all. That surprised me.
It seems like it’s almost tailored to each person. I’m glad to hear you haven’t had a temperature. Onwards and upwards xx
