Hi Everyone!
Newbie and trying to navigate round this Marvellous site.!
Had lumpectomy and sentinel node removal on 5th February since Saturday I have this awful like sunburn pain under arm from armpit to elbow..still doing exercises but so painful when skin is touched. Against body or by material Or I move my arm . Saw breast nurse and doctor today who said probably nerve damage in op..He prescribed NEFOPAM as paracetamol and ibropfem not helping. Hoping will gradually go. Does anyone else have this experience.?
Thank you
Hi Kat I'm in South London. Best of luck with your pre op on Friday and surgery x
Just thought I’d pop back in to this thread to say that there’s a lovely place at Kings Cross - Future Dreams House - for support for anyone affected by breast cancer. So includes family. I’ve been to a couple of workshops there, it’s really lovely. There are also online sessions if you’re nowhere near. I’m in Hertfordshire, and can get there in around an hour. I’ll hopefully post a link. Love and hugs, HFxx
Hi HF !.Thank you for the link I've just researched Futuredreams looks like something I might try.

Hi Panda chick
I am also based in South London and had my surgery last Friday. A lumpectomy and removal of lymph nodes.... last 24 hours I have cried on and off - so unlike me... and weather not conducive to walks today.
How are you coping??
Liz x
Hi Liz .im sorry it is overwhelming..are you in pain as well? It's over 3 weeks since I had mine and did start taking nefopam but really made me nauseous so I stopped taking.
Emotionally I have had couple of low days after feeling positive at the beginning. I think go with it ..if you want to cry let yourself I felt better afterwards ..talking to friends and family really help and this site does as well. Reaching out to others who are experiencing the same as you..you are not alone..there are wonderful people on here.
Sending love and a cuddle.xxx
It's nerve pain. Really common after SNLB. Unfortunately we often are not told !!!
A cool pack is really helpful, I bought one from Amazon that I could wear in a holster style device. Mine was much worse in the evening, so just sat with it under my arm.
It started resolving at about 3-4 weeks post op and now at 2.5 months has gone.
The other thing I wish I'd known is that the pain isn't linear, it comes and goes, so you stop painkillers and then struggle. My advice keep taking regular painkillers for a few weeks.
Good luck, it does ease I promise xxx
Hi Thank you so much for taking time to reply. That is so helpful I have found cold is so soothing . It has slightly improved so hoping I will follow a similar recovery path.
I hope your recovery is going well.

Thank you feeling better and so lucky as I do not have a lot of pain.
Have you had your results and treatment plan? I get mine next Thurs... it is the constant what next that I hate... am hoping for best!!
If I do get pain will use the cooling pad... such great advice... I wasn't sure it was allowed.
Cuddles back at you xx
Morning
Good to hear you're feeling better. I had results 15 Feb so 10 days after op. Told me hadn't spread to lymph glands so no chemo needed. I would hear from radiologist about radio therapy appt and also endocrine about starting hormone treatment.. Doctor also checked dressing there too.I have appt 14th March to discuss plan .
I understand about the what next for me too...as everyone's journey can be so different.
I found such lovely people on here who have shared their experiences and give needed support.
Wishing you the best outcome on Thursday 7th ..Will think of you.
Love and cuddle

Hi PandaChick,
I hope you are making a good recovery.
I found your question after having the same problem since my lumpectomy and sentinel node removal on the 28th Feb. I ma now 4 weeks post op with the pain and discomfort still hanging in there. Some days are worse than others especially if I have been driving or ‘overdoing’ things ♀️
I find it gets worse towards evening and have tried several bras and painkillers but with little success.
Today, I have resorted to Bio Freeze gel which is giving some relief at last. X
