Hi I'm Sarah just 40.

Been to this site plenty of times now grate for support

Just had lumpectomy. Partial reconstruction an sentinel node removed 2 weeks go all OK ish minus pain in right shoulder blade an slight under arm. Cold infection / cough but other than that am well.

Just got my notes from. Surgery an reads ct thorax scan i had a iodide scan in sep. Is this just routine after surgery. Don't know my results yet on margins an lynodes so will get them beginning  of December  reading that letter now sent me into panic..

Is this normal procedure after surgery scans xx

  • Obviously I can’t know why your team have requested this but it is standard if you are having radiotherapy as it helps them plan your treatment correctly. Maybe ask your BC nurse for clarification xx

  • Hi  anna 12345

Yes he said previously the metting before surey the plan was to have surgery then radiotherapy..  an meds.. hormones if my margins an nodes was clear if not 2nd surgery. But the wait would be 5/ 6 weeks on results

Now I'm waiting. Next appointment is 10th dec.

So it's pretty standard for the scan before the next stage of treatment thank you...

  • No worries, I’m glad you’re reassured, hope your continuing treatment goes well x

  • Thank you. It's all scarey times atm. With the panic off spreading an the unknown especially since the children are so small.

    Thank you for the reassurance

    Xx

  • I totally understand, I’m a single parent and the first time I had BC my daughter was 4, second time she was 11 (two different BCs not a reoccurrence) it’s really scary x

  • Yes it is my youngest is 2 an there's just me an them no involvement of anyone but my gran she's 82 an my grandad got dementia... so she's juggling alot.shes always helped with the kids while I work to pay the mortage. An now this.. alot for her, yet she still helps, all my appointments...

such a scarey time I dnt have much involved with my parents as my grandparents pretty much brought me up. So it's extremely scarey times now worrying about there future.

Hope treatment goes smoothly and thanks so much for help. Xxx
