Anyone else had problems getting Letrozole?. And has another prescription been successful. ??
Hi, i have been taking Letrozole for about three months and have been struggling with achy joints especially my ankles. I am also fatigued a lot of the time. I am currently taking Accord brand. I saw you mentioned Sun brand is it better. Thanks
Hi Annie G, Yes I went to collect my prescription today and was told that Letrozole was out of stock! No specific brand. I have to try again in a few days.
While I was there, I could hear them explaining to others on the phone, that their meds were unavailable.
There's an article in the i today headed 'Pharmacies at breaking point as more to close.' As many of them close, it's putting pressure on the others. Boots announced last week it's closing 300 of its stores. It's going to add pressure on to other pharmacies.
We need to bear this in mind and order in good time.

Hi, I've only ever had Sun and have had few issues, just some sore joints but if I exercise enough this goes away. I am dreading switching brands to be honest. Best wishes
Yes, I ended up having to ring round pharmacies till I found one with some in stock. The one I found is a different brand but given that the drug is the same, that doesn’t bother me
I’ve had a problem in Essex. Rang all pharmacies in reach & none had it or expected it, all brands. I eventually got it with my hospital prescription when it was couriered out to me.
just picked up my new prescription from Local pharmacy & it’s been changed to Anastrozole without telling me.
I was fairly fine with letrozole, I hope Anastrozole is the same.
Hi, you might want to check with your oncologist or GP as I think anastrozole is a slightly different drug to letrozole, not just a different brand name. Best wishes
I made a repeat prescription order 8 days ago. Rang chemist to chase up, who said “I have 25 people all waiting for Letrozole which is currently unavailable. I suggest you ring GP for alternative”. Rang GP who said he will try and sort something out but ring Macmillan Navigators and tell them as well. Rang Navigators who said they are aware of shortage but GP can prescribe alternative. In the meantime my LOVELY chemist rang to say “just had delivery of Let so it’s first come/first served!” Got my script, then GP rang to say he’s ordered me Anastrazole “to be going on with”! Can’t fault all services involved!!,
