Hi All, I had my 4th session of chemo on Monday with new drugs, Doxetaxel, herceptin and Perjeta, I've been OK but last night and all of today my hips, knees and ankles are killing me, I'm walking around like a 90 year old.
Has anyone else had these symptoms and do they last very long? I honestly can't relax in any position.
Thanks in Advance x
Yes I get the same nose issue, it’s a pain!! My eyes also run constantly xx
I am at the hospital tomorrow so I shall ask if I'm OK to take the sage tablets or what options I can have, thanks for the recommendation
Hi lovelife64 my first one was Monday and I started getting joint and muscle pain around day 4, it's crippling, I have been taking paracetamol and ibrobuphen but it just doesn't really do much. I had no idea either. I have 2 sessions left then I'm done with chemo thank god. I hope you get on OK, sending hugs your way x
I did get pain in my eyes and my Dr prescribed me some fake tears and they have been OK since, my nose on the other hand is so sore, I need to check with him if there is something I can put up there. I think the blood might have something to do with my platelets. Xx
Thanks so much, I was advised against brufen and given the codeine instead hoping that it works, big hugs to you too xx
Thanks, I’m using fake tears too but it’s still happening, maybe I need to apply them more regularly x
Hi I just wondered if you had finished your docetaxol. I am 2 her2 positive. Have you had your surgery as of yet. Best wishes xx
Hi Shaz52, yes all finished now, I had my last chemo session on the 4th Jan and my surgery is due on 8th Feb so not too long now. I'm sorry that you are going through this, it does get better once they get the medication right. How far are you into this journey? The perjeta and herceptin is over 15 sessions and it's an injectionin in my leg, luckily I have no side effects from that, just a bit of bruising, they should finish around September as its every 4th week. Best wishes to you too, here if you need anymore advice or info:)) xx
Hi thank you so much, was you given a choice for which surgery you are having, and can I ask if your having radiotherapy, I have had surgery, my tumour was removed with clear margins, and lymph nodes was clear, but could not get clear margins on an area of dcis, so I am looking at another surgery after chemo, but unsure if I am having radiotherapy xxx
Aww your welcome, i wasn't given a choice, they just kinda told me what was gonna happen, my cancer was 10cm in total just before chemo and after my 3rd chemo they had said my mri had shown it had gone but I still have the dcis cells, so I'm having a single mastectomy and removal of 4 lymph nodes on Tuesday then I'll be having a conversation with my oncology doctor about radiotherapy. He seems keen for me to have radiotherapy as the tumour was so big, then around May time I'll need to have my ovaries removed as I'm ER Positive, it's a long slog. How did your surgery go? I'm kinda nervous for mine xx
