I was diagnosed straight to stage 4 metastatic breast cancer 2 years ago age 39.
For the last 2 years I've been on tablets but now started my first EC iv chemo.
I'm currently day 10, the first week I had slimy disgusting taste in my mouth and everything tastes disgusting, this week I've come down with a cough and cold which everyone in the house has!
I don't feel hungry just thirsty all the time but I try to snack little and often I just can't taste much , I don't know if it's the cold or if its the chemo, my temperature bowels etc all normal but anyone else had problems with appetite on EC? My next cycle is 8th September.

I was pretty yuk after first EC with mouth sores. I tried the salt and bicarbonate but Dr says this could cause dryness and gave me Difflan which I used 4 times a day. I also got gel to use. I felt better after about 10 days and luckily all the anti nausea I got helped. Had cycle 2 and during this I ate ice lollies and ice cubes and the mouth sores were much less. Apart from a few days at the start when I was tired, i felt almost normal. However just had 3rd cycle and am not so sure how I’m going to feel. Start on Docetaxol in 3 weeks and dreading it. Desperately trying to find where I can’t get gloves for ice therapy on my hands - can get the sock ok. Terrified of getting neuropathy as I like my exercise and also keyboard for work.
