Hi all,

New this group but in lung cancer and incurables. This week I was advised I had a growth in the outer lining of the brain and  have to wait for a meeting of specialist before I know what they are going to do. Lung cancer with mets to spine and ribs was bad enough but now this. Has anyone got any information or advice on what it is, severity and what possiblectreatments there are. Any info would be appreciated

Hello

Im sorry you are in this awful waiting stage. I was told last week I have a Intraosseous meningioma brain tumour.

It’s a tumour of the meninges lining of the brain but also growing either from or into the bone of my skull. I am also waiting for my neurologist appointment to discuss what the plan is. He wants me to have a CT scan of my lungs, liver and pelvis in case it’s breast cancer metastasis. I can’t believe I am hoping I have a normal” brain tumour” rather than metastasis. I had a double mastectomy 15 yrs ago and though all that was behind me.

Do you mind if I ask if your primary cancer was your lungs or somewhere else ?

Hi Flowerpots,

Thanks for your reply.  My primary cancer is non small cell lung cancer with mets to bones and spine.  Sorry to read of your trials.it must have been terrible I am sure that the discovery of a new tumour was as big a blow to you as it is for me.  My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

Hi

Isnt the human body a strange beast ? It can create life , save life ( organ donation) and take life. After having breast cancer, two heart attacks and now a brain tumour I get the feeling my body is “ out to get me “ I’m only 51 yrs old .

If my brain tumour turns out to be metastatic from my breast cancer 15 yrs ago I suppose I should be grateful it’s taken 15 years to get to this stage. It’s not fair though is it ? I hope and pray you get great results from the treatment they suggest and we both have a long wonderful life to fill with happy memories despite this awful disease.

very best wishes
