First time of posting on here. Just about to get ready to go to the hospital for bloods prior to my next round of chemo on Friday.
Hi Cazza56.
Welcome! And hope bloods and chemo cycle go well.

Nothing ever goes smoothly
an hour long discussion on whether they should go ahead with this cycle, agreed they should. Finished chemo, but no drugs from pharmacy! Waited until 3pm bearing in mind I’d been there since 9.30am, went away for an hour for coffee, came back still no pills!! One of the nurses came with me to the pharmacy to find out that one of the meds was out of stock. How can they run out of stock, they’re a hospital? Took away what they had, missing one item so have to go back this morning to collect it. Very frustrating.
Gosh it was a long and frustrating day for you Cazza56 . Pharmacy really slows the process down . I thought we were getting mum at 1 pm but it ran into 3:30 pm . I think I will need to seek out things to do around the hospital . But I feel for you as going back the next day is such a time waster and let’s face it another trauma going through the doors when you just want to be home .
Hope your weekend is working out better for you and you get to do something nice .

Hi Cazza56
That is indeed a tough 1st session.
I want to reassure you that things do normally go better than that. For example, my chemo unit checks any changes in my needs before starting treatment, then gets all prescriptions brought up to ward within first 2 hours of treatment.
Perhaps on your next cycle and to help you rebuild confidence in process, you could gently remind them at start of any prescriptions your expacting?
I know this was probably a one off but it just makes things harder to deal with. This was session 4 so yes I know things are not always chaotic.the staff are wonderful and do their best under difficult circumstances.
