Hi, I’ve posted on the ileostomy/stoma support group but seeking any advice via here too please…has anyone else experienced cramps and vomiting following a stoma reversal? My reversal was Feb 2025 and I’ve had 8 incidents since then of upper abdomen cramps, which only end with projectile vomiting, It doesn’t seem linked to a particular food or activity. My GP requested blood tests Feb 2026 and amylase levels were slightly raised, so she arranged for ultrasound scans and the organs looked normal. However, I ended up in A&E with the latest incidence May 2026 and had a CT scan to check for adhesions, narrowing of the bowel or twisting. Again, all looked normal. I’ve been given anti-cramping tablets and told to try Buscopan if it happens again. But they have no idea what is causing the cramps and vomiting, so I’ve been referred back to the surgeon who did my ops, including the reversal. Any advice please?!
