Hi all well went to hospital Friday to get results of my first turbt surgeon had said it was superficial after op so was hoping for good news on Friday but had a bit of a shock he said it was high grade so having to have other turbt it’s the waiting that’s feels the worst not knowing what treatments they will put me on so could be a while longer until I find out xxx
just wanted to ask was reading my paper work that I was given after my turbt last Thursday I noticed it said they took a 5mm papillary lesion on the previous turbt site complete resection on the recurrence does that mean there was another grouth in the six weeks since first turbt sorry just can not get it out of my head xx
Hi Mandymay, please try not to panic - my OH had exactly, exactly, the same thing happen. He was G3, which is high risk of recurrence, Pta and wasn't even expecting a second TURBT when he went in. He went in for a flexi under GA as strictures mean they had to be forceful to get the camera in, and woke up to find it had morphed into a TURBT but like you, they had seen and completely removed the new papilloma growth. Superficial is good, it is the furthest away from muscle invasive.
He had had 6 BCG, and after this given choices, picked Mitomycin, hasn't had any more recurrences in around six years.
