Good morning everyone, I'm at my planning scan tomorrow with a view to start Chemoradiotherapy on 18th November. I've seen lots of people talking about prepping their skin prior to treatment & E45 being a good over the counter cream, I've looked online and there are different types of E45 so wondered if someone could point me in the right direction please, I don't want to cause more aggravation than necessary xx
Hi Ballerina ,
Just the basic E45 will be fine prior to treatment, the idea is to get your skin in the best condition possible before your treatment starts & then once your treatment begins your treating team should supply you with any creams required. My team supplied me with QV cream to start with which is similar to E45 then as my skin began reacting to the radiotherapy they gave me Flaminal cream then once treatment had finished I was provided with Flamazine, bare in mind this was a little over 6 years ago & each treating team offer slightly different products so listen to what your team advise but also make them aware if something isn’t working for you, they should have a plethora of lotions & potions for you to use.
