A bare few weeks before a trip to Argentina that's been decades in the planning I've been diagnosed with DCIS. The prognosis is very good, but because I had endometrial cancer 11 years ago and also am taking medication for suspected osteoporosis I am finding it so difficult to find insurance for the Argentina. As others have said in this forum, the repeated rejections don't improve one's mental health at a trying time. Any recommendations? Thanks.
Hi and welcome to the online community
Unfortunately, as you have found, it can be more difficult to find travel insurance when there is a cancer diagnosis involved.
I don't know if you've had a look through the Recommended Travel Insurance thread yet as it's where we try to keep recommendations from other forum members who have obtained travel insurance. There may be a company listed that you haven't tried. Either scroll down the page to it or click on the link I've created.
You could also use the search facility within this group to look for older posts that mention travel insurance for Argentina.
Most people recommend that you phone the travel companies rather than try and do online quotes as it's easier to explain to someone than try to complete an online form.
I do hope that you can obtain travel insurance so that you can continue with your planned trip.

After spending a lot of time phoning various specialist insurers, we tried my husband's travel insurance with his bank (due to inertia, we had never consolidated our respective annual travel policies). After full disclosure of my medical history they were able to insure me for an additional £67 on his annual policy, which has 9 months to run. By that stage I will no longer be awaiting treatment, which seems to be a real stumbling block for most insurers and hopefully the DCIS will be in my past. Shopping around should therefore be easier, but frankly, I'm so grateful to his bank (NatWest, in case we're allowed to name names here) that I'm not sure I'll bother. I found many of the tips on this blog very helpful, especially the suggestion to phone rather than use online applications. Even if you get a no, the people you speak to are usually kind and sympathetic and that does make a very unpleasant experience a little more bearable.
That's great news !
You're definitely allowed to name names on here, that's partly what the group's for. In fact, could I ask you to put this recommendation in the Recommended Travel Insurance thread as I'm pretty sure that no one's recommended Nat West before. To get to that thread just click on the link.
I'm glad that you also found the tips here useful.
Have a lovely time in Argentina!
