Hello I am looking for some advice on understanding how Insurance companies operate.I was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma in Jan 2018 and decided to stop work and avail of an income protection policy that I have which pays 60% of my salary after a 6 month deferral period. The policy kicked in Aug as expected. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge around what can I expect from the insurance provider in relation to medical exams / checkups. I am currently as I see it a liability to the insurance company and I expect that they will be keen to try and get me back to work as soon as possible. Thanks
Although I don't know the answer to your question I noticed that your post had gone unanswered.
I think the best way of getting an answer to this is to give the Macmillan Support Line a call on 0808 808 0000. It's free to call and the financial guidance team are available from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
Best wishes x
