Hi, I'm hoping someone can help because I stupidly didn't ask any questions at my appointment. I had a small lump on my thigh removed a few weeks ago and I've just had the results. I've been told it's a low grade myofibroblastic tumour and I'll need to go back for an excision of a larger area and a treatment plan will be discussed. At the risk of sounding stupid, does low grade mean benign or malignant?
Hi Tommygirl82 and a very warm welcome to the online community
Please don't think that you were stupid for not asking enough questions at your appointment. When given news you're not expecting often the simplest things slip from your mind.
As I don't have experience with myofibroblastic tumours could I suggest that you join the soft tissue sarcomas group (link) as there should be people there who can answer your question. To join the group just click on the link I created and then choose Join This Group, which you'll find towards the top of the page. Once you've joined you can then post your question by selecting Start A Discussion, also near the top of the page. Alternatively, you can use the search function within the group to see if there has been a recent discussion concerning myofibroblastic tumours.
I assume that you were assigned a specialist nurse so if you don't get a reply here you could give him/her a call and ask any questions that you've now thought of.
Best wishes x

Thank you, I'll join that now. I haven't been assigned a nurse but the surgeon did say I could phone her with any questions. I would feel a bit stupid asking her something that I should have asked at the time though!
Don't worry about feeling stupid Tommygirl82. We've all been there! Your surgeon sounds very approachable so take her up on her offer and give her a call.
