Hi

I am new to this so really don't know where to start?!  I have just been diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer lung mets and am very scared about the future in this current climate.  I am due to start Capecitabine next week as my onc says oral chemo is the safest way forward at the moment. Knowing how aggressive and hard to treat TNBC mets are I would love to hear from anybody who is/has been in a similar situation and to find out how their treatment is going.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community

I'm very sorry to hear that you've recently discovered that your TNBC has spread to your lungs and I can quite understand why you're feeling scared.

As the community is divided up into cancer specific groups, can I recommend that you join the secondary breast cancer group where you can ask questions, share experiences and get support from others who will understand exactly how you feel.

To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post questions after selecting 'start a discussion' and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

When you feel up to it, it would be useful if could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Sending a supportive (((hug))) ... from a safe distance!
