Hi, I'm new to the group and need some advice please. I've had plenty of experience dealing with loved ones dealing with cancer - breast cancer advanced prostrate cancer and small cell lung cancer.

Anyway today I've been told it's highly likely I have lung cancer too, my concerns are talking about it with my family. I'll wait until I have the full story and prognosis but I have had to tell my partner, he broke down in tears and is a complete wreck and I need to know how to deal with this side of things.

Any advice gratefully received.

Thank you in advance

  • Hello it is a difficult time the word cancer itself frightens  the person with the thoughts of the consquences. It took me weeks to move away from negative thoughts and started taking a positive approach. I joined the cancer forum where members shared their experience and important information. I went on to do further research to understand my illness and options available. I was diagnosed on 04 June 2019 with rectal cancer tumour it was a shock of my life the world falls down around you. When i got to know how some members were cured it gave me hope.

My experience is your family is your strength which you will need at this difficult time. Every cancer is curable medicine has developed and is really advanced. You need to think positive and stay strong to fight this illness. Good luck in your fight for a healthy life.

    Regards

    Stan
