Hi all.

I'm new to the group and would like to share my story

January if this year I was diagnosed with Stage 3 melenoma. I had surgery to remove 3 tumours. Unfortunately 2 months later one returned and is currently growing on my hip.

I've had immunotherapy, which my body declined and was in hospital on a drip for 3 weeks. So after yet another trip to hospital after declined treatment I was on a drug that completely calmed my stomach down.

I'm now currently waiting on Radiotherapy to hopefully shrink this thing. I also have two small lumps that have spread at the top end of my body.

I haven't worked since march and everyday is so monotonous.

Ok feel sometimes a big cloud is over me

I just want to fulfill my days and feel normal again.

I'm 47 and a mum

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I was diagnosed with melanoma nearly 9 years ago now and then had a breast cancer diagnosis 3 years ago, so totally understand your desire to feel normal again.

The online community is divided into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join us over in the melanoma group as you'll then connect directly with others who have the same type of cancer as you.

To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
