    Morning everyone

Just been to my gp's and had to sit and wait for over an hour to see my gp, i read a golf magazine, i am not a fan of golf but there was a large article on Seve Ballesteras, i read thay one of the main reasons he retired early was because of persistent backache problems, could that be linked to his brain tumour its the central nervous system my has husband has suffered from citica for many years now could there be a link, has any of your husbands had any back problems.

    HI Gayle,
Yes I've seen comments like that about him. I'd suspect that any early symptoms he has it would have depended on how long the tumour has been developing. There are medical updates on his website but as far as I know they have not made the diagnosis public. I know that with gbm, some develop out of lower grade tumours that can be 'silent' for quite a time possibly causing seemingly unrelated symptoms, whilst others start out as grade 4's.

    Hi folks,

Gayle - my dad has had back problems since his 20's - our worst fear was always that he would end up in a wheelchair in years to come because of it.....if only we knew. (ironically he was a sports physio). Maybe they'll find a link one day - v.interesting.

Izzy - my dad's RT finished 2 weeks ago - I used to take him every day and we both really liked the routine (the hospital is only a 5 minute drive). I feel he's been pretty down since it all stopped - also the tiredness is kicking in big time and he his floored. He's on antibiotics for pneumonia and is blaming those for being so knackered. I personally think its the radio. Who knows. How lovely having snow - your snowball fight sounded great! Im in Edinburgh, very close to the sea so all we get is wet slush!

    Love to all

    Hi everyone -

I occassionally pop in on the we talk brain tumour thread but am feeling low so was 'looking around' my hubbie has GBM level 4- interesting about the back ache link - he is a glazier and has had really bad back ache for as long as I have known him always put it down to the work he did but after reading this Im not so sure now! He also has really bad veins in both his legs (god he'd kill me for telling you all this - just as well he has no idea how to use a computer!) We are seeing the consultant monday at the marsden - scan results day & I am dreading it. But i will ask about the back aches & see what Mr Saran has to say -

    Hi Gayle
thanks for replying - I should be use to this by now - we are 2 years in with this awful disease but seem to never have good news for long. I think if I expect the worse then whatever else happens will be a bonus. My head it battling with itself trying to see whats good and seems to be working with him and whats not.

His memory is pants now! We do laugh and say thats a good thing sometimes - especially when I batter the credit card and he cant remember!!!

Hey ho its not easy for any of us but some how we keep going - We have no choice when the kids are involved.
Sometimes that makes it easier & other times when you look too far into the future 100 times worse.

Thanks for lisening to my worries

    Keep strong

    Hi Emma

Its so nice to hear that your husband is doing so well and that he is managing to work it gives us all a bit of hope, is your husband phisically well, my husband just sleeps so much of the time he has just finished second cycle of temodal 5 days and it really takes alot out of him di this happen with your husband, is he on any treatment at the moment. As for the memory my husband is the same he has some good days and some bad, scans i dont think any of us will ever stop worrying about them. How do your kids react to this our little girl has been amazing she dosent know the full extent of this but she knows that her daddy is very ill, sorry for all the questions.
