Hi First time ived messaged on here. I would love some suggestions on how to support my great nieces and nephews as their grandad ( my twin brother) has cancer and has recently started chemo and obviously now cannot see each other in case of covid or any other bugs
one of my nieces is crying herself to sleep which is absolutely heartbreaking, is there anything I can do ?
Hi D20 welcome to the forum. Its hard for young people to grasp why they cant see people, as it doesn't make any sense to them sometimes. Macmillan do have booklets for use with youngsters about Cancer if thats of any use for you? If you wanted to give them a call they can get these out to you? 08088080000.
Do you have the availability to use facetime or skype to speak with grandad and see him even if its not in person, would that be of any help for them ?
I know I haven’t been on here for a while, but my twin brother has now had his chemo and another CT scan , his operation was scheduled for next Wednesday ( 8th March) and it’s just been cancelled due to junior doctors going on strike, as you can imagine he’s absolutely devastated as he suffers from anxiety as well, he has cancer of the oesophagus and in preparation for the op was on an 800 calorie diet to shrink his liver
everything’s up in the air now , does anyone know if he should stick to this diet or increase his calorie intake until he has another date ?
love my bruv so much and want to help him in whatever way I can
thank you x
