Plug in, set the dial to smile
Function, reliability, safety and security
The steel of the body is so smooth and cool.
The beat of the heart is so shallow and cold.
I felt the heat melt and the burn screamed so
The quiet is still.
And safe, sterile.
I am a mere toy, a silly, scared boy.
Compressed in this safe
where I’m squeezed like a fist.
I dare to exist.
Choose a blank canvas now,
a vacuum of sorts.
That’s safe and secure.
And the robot’s one line
rhymes time after time.
The rhythm is calm and the words are clear
I suppose I might spend forever in here
Listen to it singing softly so...
It settles and soothes
And sucks and sucks...
settles and soothes
And sucks and sucks

Well done for transforming your experience into poetry Greg
I used to write a lot of poetry myself. Maybe I could try the same??
Hi Floral Woman,
Yes, please do, it would be great to have more contributions, I always love reading people’s efforts. Writing really helps me, it’s something I can get lost in, and I find there are some things I can say in a poem that I can’t say in any other way.
Give it a try. I for one would very much like reading it.
All the best
Finally posted a poem
