Welcome to the Online Community's first edition of our annual Spring Spotting thread!
Is change in the air where you are? We're nearly at the end of February, and across the UK we've already experienced one or two milder weather days. Whatever the weather has been like where you are, there's no stopping the seasons from turning, and spring is undeniably just around the corner...
Perhaps you've already sniffed the first hints of that warm air smell, or maybe you've ventured outside and noticed not a single woolly hat or winter coat in use? The coming of the new season is full of tell-tale signs that new growth, lighter days, and warmer weather is almost here.
If you've noticed a sign that spring is about to erupt, we'd love to see you share it with the Community here.
It can be a photo you've captured, a poem you've written, or even just a little written report about what you've noticed. However you capture what you've seen, heard, or smelled (!), we're inviting you to share the seasonal signs you've spotted so we can all share in the excitement.
We'll be collecting some of our favourite entries this year for a Community News blog later in the season, so keep an eye out for that. In the meantime, we can't wait to see your submissions of new bulbs budding, tree leaves greening, little lambs leaping, and baby birds-a-peeping!
Maybe not as cute as a new born lamb, but I always think that the first sign of spring is the postman/woman wearing shorts again!

Never underestimate some people's capacity for wearing shorts out-of-season. Summer is a state of mind.* I think I made it to mid-November before I even considered switching back to trousers!
*= this is patently untrue, I'm just really stubborn and remarkably unbothered by cold legs.
Signs of spring in the garden today. Love Jane x
Lovely pics, winkers60! I must admit that daffs in spring are my absolute favourite. Although seeing that brief flash of blossom blooming is also pretty special.
