I received a text to say that it was extended until the 30th June - this was on the 14th May?

I had a letter from my NHS hospital trust (Cambridge University Hospitals) dated 11 May saying, ‘The Government is currently advising people to shield until 30th June and is regularly monitoring this position’.

My partner has Stage 4 lung cancer and has just received a letter from her consultant saying her shielding has been extended by another 12 weeks until the end of August

My partner who is on chemo for stage 4 lung cancer has received a letter from her consultant extending her shielding for another three months until middle August

Hi Jules-100, unfortunately this looks like the way it will going with each case being reviewed on an individual 'at risk' bases and the inital 12 week timeframe was only the starting point.

Up in Scotland, only yesterday we were told that the shielding will get a general review in a 'few' weeks so nothing has changed

Is the UK in the position to take shielding away? for me it's not so care will have to be taken with those who are more vulnerable due to type of cancer, ongoing treatments and other underlying health conditions.
