Tablet v infusion chemotherapy?

Posted by
Hi, my father (bowel cancer) and my mother in law (N H Lymphoma) were both diagnosed in Nov 08. My father has had successful bowel surgery but the cancer has travelled to his lymph. He started on one infusion followed by tablet chemo (15 various pills per day) but experienced extreme vomitting and diarohha so chemo stopped. Now two weeks later he has started again on a 25% dose but again voilent reactions and has stopped again. He is also suffering with neuropathy.

Does anyone have any experience of extreme side effects such that chemo is stopped? What other options does he now have? Any views on whether infusion only chemo would be better as tablet must sit in the stomach?

Any views / first hand knowledge greatly appreciated. Sorry I do not have the drugs to hand at the moment but can find out.
