I went to River Cottage HQ yesterday as part of a pilot initiative to learn about enhancing food flavour while having chemo. It was a very enjoyable day led by food stylist Ryan Riley, supported by Sue Perkins and hosted the River Cottage team. 20 of us cooked two dishes that were full of flavour and would have cut through my metal mouth when I was having chemo 15 months ago. If you are interested, I recommend that you look out for more cookery classes near you. They are free! Macmillan is supporting this initiative.
Life Kitchen is running classes around the UK to help people, their partners and families living with cancer to focus on taste and flavour. You can find Life Kitchen on twitter https://twitter.com/LifeKitchen
The next session will be in London in March.
The next free Life Kitchen class is Monday 26th March at @jamieoliver’s cookery school in London. (Thank you Jamie!) If you’re living with cancer and want to make great food & new friends email: Ryan@ryanriley.me to apply for your space!
