my husband has muscle invasive bladder cancer he was diagnosed last October and had three rounds of chemo. Then the chemo stopped as his kidneys were not healthy enough to take any more chemo.  He had a replacement kidney stents at the beginning of June.  Since then he has really deteriorated dramatically.  He won't eat although he is on a food supplement drink.  He is now sleeping most of the time. He is getting thinner and thinner and weaker and weaker.   Although GP came  out last week to look at him he was not very helpful.  The consultant says he needs a scan so they can see what is going on.   The Macmillan nurse says it has been ordered but it has not been taken up my the scanning department.   I feel very alone. No one wants to help and he is just fading away. Need hugs can't have any of those because of covid

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to Carers, although I'm sorry to read how poorly your husband is and how little help you've had. It might be worth calling the helpline on 0808 808 0000 they're open 8am-8pm and the line is manned by experts. Have you called his specialist team at the hospital? Also, I'm wondering if he has been referred to the local hospice? If not, I'd ask his GP to refer him a.s.ap. as they can provide so much help in the home. A lot of support groups have been closed during lockdown, but if you put your post code in here you can find all the local support groups.

    Love and hugs,

If you find dust in my house, write your name in it. When the signatures overlap I'll get the polish.
