Hi

It's been a difficult weekend. My partner of 8 years was recently been diagnosed and we have been advised that the tumor is inoperable and the plan is start radiotherapy and chemotherapy once the biopsy wound has healed. Since my partners first major seizure in dec 19 short term memory has been a problem but this weekend my partner has been forgetting who I am. I am trying to stay strong but this scares for me it scares me that things may be getting worse and it scares me that my partner may forget me and the children.

I am doing all I can in seeking a second opinion as my partner really wants surgery to be an option as we both do as the results of treatment are better. I'm feeling a little lost and helpless and I miss my partner as they appear so lost. X

  • Hi , I'm so sorry to hear how distressing things are for you. I think it would be a good idea to contact your partner's specialist nurse for a chat about your fears, and ask to see the specialist again. According to cancer research the best way to get a second opinion is to ask the specialist to refer your partner to another specialist. I don't know if you've seen this booklet which contains a lot of information, particularly pages 103-106. You can download it or read it online. If you need to chat to someone, our experts are on the helpline 0808 808 0000 8am-8pm every day.

    Thinking of you,
