What happens after 6th Cycle Chemo?

Posted by

Hi there,

It seems like it is quite hard to find this info on line so thought I would ask here. My dad is going ot be having his 6th Cycle of chemo for stage 3 lung cancer. Being stage 3, it means that it is terminal, but I wondered what next? Is there a rest period and the option to have more chemo as way of preventing the cancer from spreading? Or is this not what happens? If so, why not?

Thanks for any insights.

Hi and welcome to the online community although I'm sorry that you've had to find us.

I have not had the treatment that your dad has had but I noticed that your post had gone unanswered. Could I suggest that you join the lung cancer group and post your question there as well.

To join this group just click on the link I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the page that opens. You can then post your question by selecting 'start a discussion'. If you want to respond to an existing post click on 'reply'.

When you have a minute it would be really useful if could pop something about your dad's journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
