Welcome to Warped.

I wanted to come back in time and explain something as it doesn't make sense otherwise...(though not much of this thread makes sense anyway)  I set up this thread as explained below with a lovely dear lady called Sunny Leith. We had a lot of chat on here and the silliness got me and her and lots of others through some hard times. Sunny left the site when there was some criticism of warped  and she deleted all her posts when she left. That is why it doesn't make sense to start with as all her posts are missing and it is a bit of a one sided conversation.... Enjoy it all the same...

Hi there,

This is a follow on from the 'dumb things people say' recent thread that is moving here with a health warning!

If you are feeling sensitive please don't read this thread as you may feel offended.... and we need a place to say what we need to say without worrying about offending people so  you have been warned!!!!

This is for those of us who cope by being irreverent and silly and able to laugh at all the bad stuff. If you want to get the idea, read the last few pages of dumb things people say, I might see if I can cut and paste a few over to get us going....

In the meantime,

Sunny, you had me laughing my head off this morning with that image of you sitting there in your underwear, chocolate mouth etc!! I think it would have been hilarious if you had answered the door and invited them in.... they certainly would have needed oxygen by the time they got back down the speed they would have run away....!

Magel, how do they find us?? I live up a very steep hill in a very remote area and they made it up the hill to us too..... mind you, they were so out of breath they couldn't speak... almost felt sorry for them!

Can't remember what else we were on about as I can't see the last post anymore but lets continue here with the laughs and anyone new, feel free to join in.

Looking forward to hearing from you

Little My x

I'm so glad you're cutting your holes, I had thought about that, you know, my O.H. having bags as well.  Was going to say something then thought  nah, let the crazy lady take her scissors, could provide a welcome break for people bored out of their minds at the airport.

I spend a lot of time toing and froing between here (Kent) and Wales, O.H.'s parents live there, and I am convinced you can buy both tea bags and gin, so what is it, the lure of cross border smuggling to much to resist?

Kent does have some lovely bits, unfortunately neither I nor Shaz live in one.  Not far away from Canterbury (the home of Kent cricket)  and a rather quaint olde English village called Chilham, which does a lovely cream tea, and I have to say here there are none so warped as those who dislike cake.  Still, I'm quite happy to go with the popular vote, Rolo's and gin from teapots it is, virtually or otherwise.  As for the planning of meeting up, just get a map  of the UK and stick a pin somewhere round the middle, should just about cover it

Now, you be careful what you do with the little circles cut from your bags, I'm forever picking them up, by the way, could your adhesive remover spray be deemed an offensive weapon?

    Ann xx

Ok.  So now we know it's not just girls (so Little My can't tell her dilator story) - and that people are interested in a Macland tea party (ok - Deuchars for Teakbank!).  At thr latest, I'm off chemo by end October - what about everyone else?

    Hi everyone

Guess who directed me to this crazy site? Hi Little My, I found it!

Little My and I have a couple of things in common. Craziness and teaching (though i left a few years ago!) Just a thought, did the craziness start before or after we began teaching? Now my kids blame it on all the medication I had during 3 years fighting off Hodgkins (otherwise known as Murraymint, in honour of an unsupportive person I met in my past!)

I haven't had time to catch up with all that's written here. Think Little My will be testing me when she gets back from Sweden. She will be pleased to learn that my 2 nephews and my neice have returned from the Scout Jamboree held in Sweden this month, so she won't have to 'Bob a job' Ha ha!

Over 2 years since I finished treatment, and I'd say that, in some ways, it was a doddle in comparison to regaining your life after. Three Christmases ago it looked as if my consultant and I were fighting a losing battle. My will was updated rapidly (and the solicitor provided biscuits and coffee...don't think that's always the case!) and I talked about my funeral. One day I happened to mention that I would like a willow casket. Two seconds later I found my husband was on internet researching them! LOL! Anyway, then followed a stupid conversation regarding how the postman would struggle up the path to deliver it. We both ended up with tears of laughter streaming down our face.

Once I went into remission the pressure was off as regards funeral arrangements, but on a trip to the pub with my husband, daughter and son-in-law we got talking about my wish to have my ashes taken to Venice, and my family could accompany them and have a bloody good holiday. There could be several reasons for this

    • One of my favourite films is Death in Venice
    • One of my favourite holiday spots was Venice
    • I love Vivaldi's music
    • Seeing a funeral procession from our hotel window as they went to the water taxi, draped in black, to take the casket to the island where they have burials
    • Don't want a memorial stone anywhere!!!

With me so far...well, had seen a programme about death, funerals and cremations with the actor who plays Victor Meldrew, and had found out that ashes weigh almost one person's hand luggage allowance. I was going to have to change my game plan. Up pipes son-in-law "I'll take them on my bike!" "Would you really?" "Of course I would".

Ok I have a fantastic son-in-law, but was this just a good excuse to plan another of his epic bike rides......

Hi Dave, hmmm I'm worried now..  do you think there are loads of them out there reading in the background, hiding this thread behind a copy of What Car and sniggering away.... oh dear... Come on out and own up, I say! Dave can do it! can you imagine if it was actually the whole 30 000 maccy members.. I think I would go a little pink at the cheeks! (no... not those ones, sniggerers at the back)

Sunny, I need to wait till 9th Sept to find out my next few months... and fingers crossed it isn't more chemo...(still got  a bit of the psycho what if.. pain in my side thing at the back of my head... but at least its at the back and not worrying for now ha!)  mind you, it doesn't actually matter cos I don't eat cake and if it is, then no work for me so actually should be fine to meet ha ha.... October sounds good to me...

The others had better come out from behind their Golfing weekly so we know how big a tea room we need... imagine if 1000's turned up ha ha ha actually, if that happened, I'm not sure I could own up to being me and look that many in the face... errr hmmm.... you lot of nutters are ok of course... oh what the heck, I've let GC see/do worse... come along... though rolos are reserved for him....

Stinker, welcome over here, well done for finding us, what with the spelling mistakes and all..., and yes, I  will be asking questions... I have my clipboard ready... and the starter for 10 is...

" Who couldn't stop crying at Little Pube's memorial?"

oooh- we could do a pub quiz of maccy stuff!

You don't need to give me scissors to entertain them at the airport... just being there is enough! and you know I always end up getting searched or something... and just realised I forgot to ask GC to sign the certificate about the bag... could be fun... I'm happy to show them the contents.... ha ha might have a curry the night before just for fun....

Can't remember what you lot were saying anymore.. and annoyed that i can't comment on paul's blog too.... grrrr.

Not a lot of offers to adopt me yet... hmmm do I need to do the sad puppy look or offer to do your hoovering or something?

    Little Myxx

(and no, I haven't gone yet... bad luck... got a few more hours to bug you yet...)

Ok Ok - I've  only read a few of the posts on this thread, and I feel that I must join!!!

Hubby & I have a very warped sense of humour, which includes Punning - and in the Chemo Room on Monday 2 glorious Puns were unwittingly uttered by the Oncologist. If the situation was not so dire, we would have burst out laughing. I think that I have finally found a safe place (here?) to unload them!

"We'll use the suppositories as a 'back up' plan"

    "The suppositories are 'on hold'"

and then we added something about the 'wretched nausea'.

Terrible, I know - but I feel relieved to have unloaded all this!!!

Love what you've all posted here !!!!!

Quick one before I turn the computer off and jump in the car whooo hoooo!

Did you know I was going on holiday? Not sure if I mentioned it or not...  ? :o)

had to welcome our new nutter before I went away... rude not to.... brung up proper me!

But first, before i forget... annfran.. next time you find the little circles from the bags, will you just for me, put 2 of them over your eyes, put your hands together  and go up to your OH and say 'Ah grasshopper'

well, it makes me laugh anyway...

So..... Weclome Maureen...seems you have found your true home...  bad puns r us..and glad I am not only one who seems to get things stuck up their bum.. rolos are more fun though (you need to read some of my blogs if it doesn't make sense, I tend to jump across from one to the other and forget who knows what)

The one that made me laugh out loud wasn't really a pun, but when I first met GC, I got his young side kick first (can't remember his name- I call him Robin as in Batman and Robin and of course everyone wants Batman don't they poor old Robin... maybe one day someone will say I prefer Robin...) anyway, Robin had a lookyou know where and didn't feel cos i think it looked a bit sore and scary and he didn't dare and that was even BR (before rolos) and disappeared off and came back with GC otherwise known as Batman....

He says, Hi, sorry, do you mind pulling down your pants again so I can have a feel....?

    fnar fnar snigger snigger...

Be my guest says Little My sniggering rather loudly... poor man- I did make him laugh too and I think he might have even gone a little red too under his shiny tanned face.... and that was long  before we even got to sympathy nurse, or rolos or me getting the word anal put next to his name or any of it..... he's going on his hols too he said.. he deserves it I think...

ange... glad we are a tonic to you.... I like a bit of gin with mine...

    Sunny, I love you

Speak to you all later...probably at the service station later...
