Breast cancer for the under-50s

Breast cancer is far less common in the under-50s, but this can leave younger people with a diagnosis feeling isolated. This group is a place for them to come together, share experiences and support each other.

hi all

i was diagnosed with stage 3 triple negative breast cancer last year and have just been told it’s bac again in the same breast. They have told me that surgery is the only option but I also have multiple sclerosis. This flared up after the initial treatment and I am now really quite disabled and struggle standing from sitting. I have told my husband that I don’t want surgery as I don’t want to become more disabled. Feeling pretty lost at the moment

Hi Loola1208 welcome to the forum.

I am so very sorry to hear what is happening for you right now. If they have said that surgery is the only option there will be a reason for that. However, I do respect your right to choose whether to have that or not.

It is difficult to answer with any certainty as you have other medical issues which are involved in your decision making process and I wonder if you  might like to give the Macmillan Line a  call and speak to one of their specialist Advisors with your query and see if they can give you links to any research or info that might help in the decision making process for you. Sorry not to have been of more help at this time. Macmillan Line 08088080000.

Meantime  Im sending some huge big hugs your way for now.xxxx
