Breast cancer for the under-50s

Breast cancer is far less common in the under-50s, but this can leave younger people with a diagnosis feeling isolated. This group is a place for them to come together, share experiences and support each other.

Wrong diagnosis by oncologist

I went this Monday to see my Oncologist,After 2 years of all clear of TNBC she told me with a cold heart that she can't do anything for me she said I had mets in my lungs, breast, kidney, liver.I had a tantrum and she was just sitting quietly.I just had a CT scan following a cough. But she didn't even offer more tests to make sure. While I was asking questions she was playing on the phone.

So not happy with this attitude contacted my friend in Germany and now I am in Germany where I had more tests and also ultrasound which I didn't have in the UK and I DONT HAVE any lessons anywhere.I am just waiting for the lung specialist because I was living in a fungi infested flat for 2 years.

So why I was told I am going to die and she can't do anything for me?She caused me and my family so much stress and also had to pay for the extra tests. Also here if you are a breast cancer patient they doing follow up mammograms and US scans every 3 or 6 months and not 1x year like in the UK because if it's more often it's easier to catch it in the beginning.

Just want to share this story if anybody have doubts please get a second opinion or see different doctor or hospital,it doesn't have to be abroad only make sure.

I am very disappointed I am not willing to go back to this Oncologist again but I am happy that she wasn't right.

Hi

What an appalling thing to happened to you. This oncologist needs to be reported in my opinion. I would be reporting her, especially if playing on her phone, that is totally unprofessional.

Glad you had scans etc elsewhere.

Wishing you the best of luck with things.

Thank you Beachwalker.yes the shock firstly I had after I had a meeting with her and the way how she spoken to me I don't wish to anybody.Like she said I am already dead.

I will report her soon as I come back to UK.I hope having here a biopsy soon because also this UK oncologist was meant to book me for biopsy but nobody called me so far so if I can do it faster I do it here.I think her attitude is saying anyway the cancer has spread so where is the rush? But IT DIDNT SPREAD anywhere. Here in Germany is also a standard to do an ultrasound and CT or after biopsy diagnose somebody. But her just stated I have apparently mets. And find it's ridiculous why they keep waiting people for too long have biopsy it makes even 1 week difference.

If my biopsy will be cancer I might just have treatment here in Germany.I have lost  all my faith in the oncology there.
